Michael Chamberlin has joined BakerHostetler’s Labor and Employment Group, where he will be resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He joins from Winston & Strawn LLP, where he was co-chair of its Los Angeles Labor and Employment practice.

Chamberlin regularly defends employers against claims involving unfair labor practice and labor contract violations, sexual harassment, various types of discrimination, whistleblowers, and confidential trade secret matters. He has experience representing employers in both individual and class action litigation alleging violations of California and federal wage and hour laws, and he has defended numerous arbitrations involving employee grievances and matters of collective bargaining agreement interpretation. Chamberlin regularly advises clients on employee and union relations matters, including contract administration, union organizing campaigns, contract negotiations and operating during labor disputes.

“Michael will be an excellent addition to our practice and to the strong team we have in place on the West Coast,” said Amy J. Traub, chair of BakerHostetler’s national Labor and Employment Group. “He has an impressive record successfully representing employers in complex and high-profile cases, and I’m thrilled he is joining us.”

“Michael is an established leader and brings a wealth of experience to the Labor and Employment group” said Eric E. Sagerman, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office. “I look forward to continuing to grow our West Coast presence by adding attorneys across practices including complex commercial litigation, corporate transactions, intellectual property and privacy and data protection.”

“BakerHostetler’s commitment to and continued investment in its national Labor and Employment practice was very attractive to me and made this an easy move,” said Chamberlin. “The firm’s Labor and Employment bench in Los Angeles is very deep, and I am excited to join such a well-rounded and experienced team.”

Chamberlin earned his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also earned his J.D. at its School of Law.
